A quick google gives the field dimensions as 131m x 81m. If the pitch was in the very centre of the stadium that would give 40m square boundaries......Anyone know if any thought is being given towards playing cricket in Forsyth Barr Stadium?

The ICC's playing conditions stipulate that the boundary rope must be at least three metres away from the fence/advertisement hoardings for safety reasons. It also says the shorter of the square boundaries should be a minimum of 59.43 metres and both the straight boundaries should be at least 64 metres. According to the playing conditions: "In all cases the aim shall be to provide the largest playing area, subject to no boundary exceeding 90 yards (82.29 meters) from the centre of the pitch to be used".
Yeah, nah. With all the stadium controversy and so many people against it, my only criticism was not catering for cricket. Missed a trick there. Ugh rugby is the only important sport apparently.Anyone know if any thought is being given towards playing cricket in Forsyth Barr Stadium?
It starts on Wednesday!Still a long way out, but the forecast for the second test is looking distinctly average.
who would you recommend as an economical third seamer
fmd reading earlier in this thread, and also other threads in general, it's like people have no understanding of what a bowling attack should be. The third seamer should be in the top 3 seamers in the country, not some halfway there he-might-score-some-runs serviceable seamer. This is not ODIs, your third seamer isn't there to be economical, he's there to ****ing take ****ing wickets for ****s sake. He actually has arguably a tougher job than anyone else because he hasn't got a new ball and might be facing some now-set batsmen.I wouldn't mind my idea of picking Neesham as the third seamer. Might mean Anderson has to bowl more, but between the two of them we're getting more wickets than Wagner, and certainly more runs.
Weather forecasting is generally a crapshoot any further out than 3 days.It starts on Wednesday!

Batting only comes into it when you're playing two spinners and the third seamer is an all-rounder.
would you give wagner another go? do you think we might benefit from having some fresh legs instead?fmd reading earlier in this thread, and also other threads in general, it's like people have no understanding of what a bowling attack should be.
