Looking ahead, it seems unless KP goes a bit mental, England will need to bat until the middle of the second session on day four to be close enough to have a shot at a chase if Australia falls over in the third dig.

If that were to happen and they were around 450, they'd be an outside shot if they skittled Australia for 100-120 second time around. If they aren't that close though, and get rolled for around 400, they'd be looking at a last day chase of nearly 300 if we get rolled cheap, and I think that would be too many on this deck.

I just saw Monty's effort down at fine leg.

What the **** was Monty doing at fine leg if England were going to bowl bouncers?

We're in the boxseat here. Declare at close of play on day 4 with 700 on the board. Innings win.

Clarke, Haddin heap pressure on England - YouTube

who is that yelling in the background and what are they saying
Sounds like Warnie yelling "thank you!" They were talking about him getting the hundred and Warnie had literally just said something like "I reckon he'll hit one behind square on the legside for a single."

Davey's high-five at the one minute mark looks so reluctant and awkward.

Edit: Actually scrap that, the whole thing looks so reluctant and awkward.

the highlights reminded me of the context: as the bowler was coming in. warne predicted that the run would come on the leg side/behind square. so whatever he's saying is related to his successful prediction
that explains "i knew, i knew" then
