He looked like **** yesterday too tbh. Wouldn't be surprised if his back is cactus.

I'd think England might want to bowl fuller to him if his back is no good. He doesn't seem to be able to drive as fluently or get as far forward as he usually does.

Interesting start. Feel like we're in with a sniff of a wicket all the time without doing anything brilliant. But normally we tail off if we don't snare one early on in these circumstances; I guess most teams do.

There's a guy on ABC radio saying that they should put taps under the pitch so there is more moisture. One of the more wacky ideas I have heard. Although the pitch is described as a road, there seems to be a bit of turn for the spinners. Will this pitch produce a result? Probably, but more to do with batsmen giving their wickets than due to the pitch?

Best way of thinking of it is that this pitch would be a normal Adelaide pitch if the match started on about Tuesday. So today is more like a day four Adelaide pitch, minus the player caused wear and tear. It will fall off a cliff faster than what previous pitches have done because of this.

If Clarke bats til lunch this game will have been taken away from England. It's balls to the wall here.
