Think this is a bit harsh as England's fielding has in general has been pretty good in the recent past.

Obviously Carberry's drop today was a shocker though and despite what Warne said he has shelled a fair few now in my limited watching of his fielding which isn't encouraging.
Quite. Plus there was Panesar's bad miss off his own bowling which cost us a fair few. And obvs he has plenty of previous on that front. I just don't think we see fielders as poor as that in most test sides. And thinking about it, the slip fielding hasn't been great since Colly called it a day, although that wasn't the issue today.

Replying to GIMH, yup, Swann's catch was fine but you expect to see a few of those at this level.

Well, I don't know how to put this, but you really, really do...

I won't be offended if I'm wrong (way too much practice), but I think countries like Aus, SA and NZ are generally far more solid in the field. I'm really struggling to think of anyone as regualrly faulty as Panesar and Carberry in any of those sides. Perhaps some of the Asian blockare a different matter.

He's probably that guy who had a sook at me for winning #StarsTestTrivia 7 dozen times.
iirc, as reward for that, you received 7 dozen letters written by brad hodge's mother about how brad hodge should have played 84 tests for australia

"the people of adelaide and south australia deserve a lot of credit". the worst thing michael clarke has ever said

Although England missed chances that have cost us and could cost us big, Australia also really shouldn't have given England a sniff. Most of the wickets have been terrible shots. Only Smith got a good one from Panesar and Bailey's was a great catch.

Smith played a regulation delivery poorly and Bailey's dismissal was terrible.
Smith did play it poorly but it was still at least a decent ball early in his innings, Warner/Rogers and Watson's shots were so lazy when the were set.
