Ridiculous thing to say. Before the India tests we had won 6 tests in a row. We're ranked at 6.
Having said that I'd very much like to stick a fork in our selectors......

Oh no the likes of India can get gubbed 4-0 twice in a row, Australia can lose three test series in a row including 4-0 in India and NZ just drew in Bangladesh but little old WI cricket needs a "fork stuck in it" apparently!!
....This attack isn't fit to wear the great WI shirt!!..the selectors and coach are to blame for this fiasco!!..when you ignore better players and continue with failing "favorites" then this is what you get!!..
We will see if this is a total meltdown when we bat!!..because though the bowling has been beyond shambolic the pitch is still a belter.

I will compose my thoughts in a quick sentence or two at the end of the day. I realise we have had 17 doubles before and the bowling and pitch may have been relatively easy. However the runs had to be scored. He has brought himself one step further towards the hallowed ground of NZ ATG XI reckoning with this knock. He is not there yet. But if he can get another couple of big ones he will be.
And I don't think the bar is too high for him to make it since one player in the XI has 7 tests.

While a lot of our best players were unfortunate to play so few matches, I think some of the batsmen especially get a small advantage from playing so few tests as well much in the same way Barry Richards does. IMO Taylor is next cab off the rank for the all time XI.

There is no excuse for being bowled out cheaply in this match. The pitch is superb for batting. They are facing an attack that is decent without being spectacular. Nobody in the opposition bowls at 140kph. They have a rookie spinner that apparently averages over 50 runs per wicket in First Class cricket. A little bit of discipline against the new ball and then capitalise. It's not rocket science.
The bowling was embarrassing, but we all know that the selectors have screwed us over with the attack they chose. Whereas the batting is pretty much our best minus Chris Gayle. So, no excuses. Time to man up.
