And after that series he went on and continued the rampage against Sri Lanka and India, went quiet for a but still scored a ton against Steyn and Co and then had an incredible series in India.
Wow, what an achievement, considering that SL & India have had such amazing fast (??) bowlers since 2011 :p

TC can probably provide you with best analysis but it went something like medium fast, injury (repeat ad nauseam), **** it I'll bowl quick as I am going to get injured anyway, Australia, injury, (repeat ad nauseam)

Dizzy was a sensational fast bowler for many years
Um.. Dizzy was hardly an iron man himself.

Sorry.

I just had a look at Cook's scores from the England V india series in 2011 and one massive knock made up for his low scores throughout the series-

12 & 1
2 & 5
294
34

hmm, I am now starting to remember Ishant Sharma of all people maintaining a tight line to him outside off and getting him out 2-3 times as a result.

you have managed to completely and totally change the subject by the small matter of over a year
You can put that down to bad wording rather than bad argument tbf.

Was just pointing out that plenty of batsmen V's Sri Lanka and India and not all score truckloads of runs like he did. The home/away thing was unintentional.

But that's simply not true, as plenty of batsmen have scored buckets against India and Sri Lanka away from the subcontinent. Like, apart from Shaun Marsh, who hasn't?

well, when I went to bed we were 9-0, and we were in a commanding position, and I slept through, so I'm ignoring what happened when I slept, just some kind of hideous nightmare I'm presuming.

Thought this was about Cook's weakness V Seam bowlers, not spinners.
He didn't face quicks during those innings?? CBF checking them all but his first test after the 10/11 Ashes was against Sri Lanka at home, Cook scored 96 and Welegedara bowled the most overs in that innings.

Look, lets just agree to disagree on this. Been a **** day start to finish really and i've no intention of finishing it off with an argument here.

Haha, yeah, same here. Terrible really.

Bound to turn it around at some point in the near future though, given the quality of the opposition.

Going on that batting performance we might as well mark Brisbane and Perth down as losses, meaning we best sharpen up and win the other three.

Welegedara is easily one of the most accurate and top-class bowlers around. Great stats- Chanaka Welegedara | Sri Lanka Cricket | Cricket Players and Officials | ESPN Cricinfo

Sorry. You are right. I (we) should end it here and not play with your mood any further.
