Internationally? Not for yonks. Last time he played, was the 2009 CT final. When's the last time he played limited overs cricket?
It counts. There was a toss; it's a match.I've given up rooting against Devcich although I did give a small fist pump to see he was dismissed cheaply last night (before I realised it won't count against his stats).
Haha, If SL haven't got the confidence to blood a couple of promising players in their home conditions against a mediocre side missing its 5 best ODI batsmen in Guptill, Williamson, Ryder, Taylor & McCullum and having just been slaughtered by Bangladesh.... they have some real problems.SL forced to abandon their youth policy for the next 2 games with the series on the line, would've thought they'd be a little more willing to experiment tbh, would be kinda funny if NZs second string side beat them now
Nah you're missing the point. They planned on changing the team around a lot in the next game if they won the first one - that was the youth policy - but now that the series is on the line they're going to have to stick to their strongest eleven which is the side that played the first ODI.Don't see how Sanga, Dilshan, Malinga and Mahela qualify as a youth policy. It's a very conservative youth policy if they're willing to let their older blokes faf around against New Zealand C in an ODI series that means zilch.
it's a dumb plan.Nah you're missing the point. They wanted to win convincingly the other night, then blood youth because it would be much safer to do so with a victory up their sleeve, however because of the washout they don't feel confident picking younger players to win them the series, so they are going to stick with their more experienced players.so if their plan works their plan doesn't work?
