Was also Guptill's only saving grace for a while there (seemed to prefer 2nd or 3rd slip though). Tell Hamish Rutherford he too can be indispensable if he becomes a good slipper :happy:.

Tbh I can see why most captains like to field at first or perhaps second slip - just gives an all-round better perspective of how play is proceeding than other fielding positions. McCullum is below average in the slips but Taylor is also prone to lapses there.

Weather.com seems to suggest it isn't raining right now, but that there's an 80% chance of rain at some point during the day - possible thunderstorms. :(

btw if the Sodhi experiment fails and Vettori is injured again, what are peoples thoughts on selecting an accurate medium pacer to fill the hobo's Joel Garner role?

Sodhi has bowled nicely so far. I suspect he's at where Milne was when Milne was selected for 20/20, but he is bowling well today.

No Danny, you're not allowed to talk to young and impressionable players thanks.

Excellent bowling. This guy has come along since his debut.

Fulton takes a catch behind the wicket, and not with his head. Bahnz to start breathing again.

Good captaincy from McCullum but that's poor from Mushfiqur. Really had to get through the first hour.

I think that good bowling from Sodhi partly brought that wicket as well.
