I love how one of the main highlights being shown at half-time is that Danny Welbeck shot that hit a defender and went out of play.

Good play by Townsend.

Rooney gives England the lead. Was a decent first touch before the finish after Welbeck's shot was saved.

The finish is easy but Rooney did so well with his first touch there. Should relax them, that.

Looks like he shinned it, but unusually for England he got the first touch right and that was the important bit.

Well, tbf, I think we deserved that, and looked like getting it. No great quality, but at least there's some pace and invention on the wings, if it's still leaden in mid-field, and will whilst these two play together, but I guess we've just got to accept that.

There is surley no way he would play those two and nobody else in midfield against top opposition.

What would your midfield be ?

You'd fancy Rooney to beat Charlton's record but I remember thinking Owen was a cert so you never know really

Probably Gerrard-Carrick-Wilshere assuming form and fitness.
Yeah I was thinking similar. Whatever argument there may have been for Lampard over Gerrard in the past (and for me I've never bought it) it's not up for discussion anymore.

Oh dear, poor fella.

Class from Strurridge mind you
