So we're playing against a low ranking nation who faces mediocre spinners day in and day out. Let's play three of them! [/thelogics]
Yes to both of these... so where does that leave our selectors?this just looks like a horrible place to be a fast bowler.
He's not been dropped actually; he's just not been recalled. He was dropped for their last Test against Zimbabwe.Mahmudullah dropped.
WTF.
dicks. He's not been dropped actually; he's just not been recalled. He was dropped for their last Test against Zimbabwe.
they're exaggerating.Yes cricinfo commentary isn't very flattering on Fulton so far.
I think Fulton's run-scoring options against spin are to come down the wicket and/or hoick over cow corner, and he's pretty effective at both. The problem is that either would be rather irresponsible at the beginning of an innings. I think once he gets in things could start to get rather brutal. He's looks fine as long as he's just bunting the ball back to the bowler. As soon as he attempts a shot with any kind of run-making intent though he looks horrendous.
Quoted for truth. Low and slow and Bangladesh went on the defensive with their field settings real fast. Will be interesting to see if it breaks up. That low bounce could be a worry as the pitch wears.this just looks like a horrible place to be a fast bowler.
Fixed.Fulton looks like he has absolutely no idea how to score off the spinnersatm.
Fixed.
That doesn't really demonstrate having an idea how to score against spin though; it's not about boundary releases.39.5 Panesar to Fulton, FOUR, sweep now, displaying the full range now, Panesar down the pads, and Fulton helps it on its way past short fine leg
39.6 Panesar to Fulton, SIX, have Prior's taunts fired him up, he is taking Monty apart, charges out and heaves it high and huge over long on
41.6 Panesar to Fulton, SIX, here he comes, easily to the pitch with that monster reach, and that is huge again, gun barrel straight too, over the bowler, for a massive six
