You know, I sorta assumed that with Jarvis retiring out of the blue on the eve of a series, that he would actually be playing for Lancashire.
Nah he has pretty much been signed as a potential Chapple replacement I think. Our bowling attack in FC cricket this year is Chapple (49w@21), Hogg(49w@18), Kerrigan (47w@20) and Smith (not long back from injury, but has 11@13 and half in for his batting) so no need to rush him in. He took 5/31 for the seconds yesterday though (albeit against Scotland A), a chance he will get a game in the last few, especially if we secure promotion and they rest Chapple.

Last wicket wagged for us today, 79 partnership so far.

Having said the above, I think he will be in our first choice side next year and Chapple has just signed on for another year. We will have a good bowling attack next year but the batting is still going to be a worry. We have been shored up this year by batting down to 10 and Katich having an awesome season but only Reece has reallly emerged whilst Brown, Croft and Cross have been awful. Could do with either signing another quality batsman or a wicketkeeper who can contribute more than the odd 20.

First FC 50 for Kegga and 100 partnership!

Kerrigan bullying a new bowler, even hit him for a six - poor 16 year old lad ;)

Next season I think we will be lining up in Div 1 like

Moore, Horton, Reece, Prince, Agathangelou/Katich, Smith, Keeper (Get somebody to replace Cross), Jarvis, Hogg, Chapple, Kerrigan

Jarvis does like to think he can become a bowling allrounder but it's almost mandatory for a Zimbabwean bowler at all; he'll bat 10 at the highest. :p

Plenty of runs in the 40 over comp? Seeing as there's 31 men who've scored more, I don't see how he deserves a chance in an ODI squad based on that.
Not that I think Moeen should be in the ODI team but Moeen has taken more wickets (15) than any of the men who have scored more runs than him.

I reckon

Reece
Horton/Proctor/new signing
Price
Katich if we can get him back
???? (Croft/Brown/Aga/Proctor/Livingstone)
Davies/don't think we can afford Buttler but maybe make a play for Ambrose if Warks get him
Hogg
Chapple
Kerrigan
Jarvis

I think Moore is done in FC cricket and IIRC his contract is up this year I wouldn't be surprised if he is shown the door.

Aga? As in.. Kenyan bowling allrounder Ragheb Aga, proud scorer of one First Class half century in his whole career, who used to bat 10 for Sussex? Or am I missing something?

Dave do we only need 10 next season to complete the historic div 1 winner - relegated - div 2 winner - div 1 winner set? :P

Actually Chapple is probably going to get close to passing 1000 FC wickets next year. I think the last fast bowler to do that was Martin Bicknell? Does anyone have a list of the most FC wickets for current players?

This could be very interesting with runs on the board...or it could be a horribly boring draw on a runway.
