Harris is our best bowler, he would make our team whenever fit IMO
Indeed. Can't remember the last time he bowled badly.

In fact I think our second best bowler (if he's properly fit) is Hilfenhaus. He's bloody lethal when his action is correct.

England have been in 3rd gear for sure, this is not their level, they are better than this.

2010/2011 was England in 1st gear and is the standard they should be looking to get back to but this negative and complacent (at times) mentality has crept in ever since getting dicked in the UAE, England need get rid of that and get back to the mindset that got them to number 1, can't see it happening though, not that im really complaining, if we keep dicking Australia and to a lesser extent India then all is good, would be really nice to beat SA to.

Disappointing finish after such a good start with the bat in the second innings. Pretty poor from the last 9 not being able to scrape together 190-odd. Looked like a good ball to get Clarke on replay too.

I guess, in the end, we're just lucky England are playing with a broken transmission. Maybe next time we'll bowl well.

No doubt Mitch Starc has been hit by peoples views of the other Mitch, mind you I think Johnson has been badly treated too, but I will still chuckle at the pissant.

Bird is decent, but he offers no real big difference to the oz side then Harris, Siddle or even Watto, either of the Mitches offer you better variation, and they give you a batting option.
I don't think the fact he's left-handed and has the same first name as he who shall not be named has had that big an effect. He's clearly better able to swing the ball around and get the seam upright than the other bloke ever was.

Wouldn't have Johnson in ahead of Bird though...ever. Unless there was a written guarantee he'd be on his once every 4 year period 'on' day.

Nah, apparently the Clarke dismissal was his fault. Technical flaw or something. The mug can't keep out the 91 MPH ball that pitches middle and clips the top of off.

P.s. Michael Clarke, great middle order batsman. Ok maybe he can't quite play the new ball but he's still absofududdly fantasmic and ranked number 2 in the world right... (number 1 to some) :)

When your side wins the only thing you have to do is try not to come over as a bit of a ****. Bcos that is exactly how you sound. How about a little credit to our bowling which has done a good job controlling your batsmen? Not every unrealised expectation is down to your side not living up to its potential for whatever fanciful excuse you make for them. Sometimes it just the opposition has played well in certain parts.

As to question I saw raised about who would you choose btwn Siddle and Rhino; I think I have a solution. I'd pick Rhino for one end and Siddle the other.

He did, got given out, for a very iffy decision, the DRS showed that it may have just hit the top of leg stump, never out IMHO, mind you Broad was all over him.
Wambulance thread is that way >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> ****

What the **** is this rubbish about England playing in third gear or something?

Just thinking about it. The outcome was just so sadly inevitable. A decent bowling performance followed up by a huge batting collapse. Credit to Bresnan for his delivery to Warner and the spell by Broad but its just so frustrating to see us capitulate like that after such a strong start.

That was a brutal scoreboard to wake up to this morning. Figured we would mess up the chase but was expecting us to hit day 5. Anyone know if Fox will have the lowlights?

If England have been stuck in 3rd gear, it's because they're a clapped out old Trabant which either only has 3 gears or it's impossible to find 4th in their **** of a gearbox.

Though, to be fair, they're lucky not to have found reverse going down the autobahn if that was the case.

It helps in terms of winning the Ashes as well IMO. KP and Bell have played in 4 victorious series; Cook, Prior, Anderson, Swann and Broad in 3.

Contrast that experience with Australia's, whose 2 most successful players are Clarke (1 series win, 4 defeats) and Siddle (14 Ashes Tests, 2 wins).
That was something Vaughan goes on about a lot, he had to drop guys like Butcher and Thorpe as they were scarred by previous defeats in ashes series, he was lucky he had good players coming in though a luxury the Aussies don't have.
