Getting more and more confident that Smith can become a really good test batsman. His game has improved so so much in the last year and a bit that you can't help but think if he continues working this hard he can be anything.

I've watched most of Broad's career but still haven't thought of this before, is there any link to Broad failing with the bat and doing better with the ball and vice versa?

I don't know Siddle's stats exactly (can you believe it), but I wouldn't be surprised to see him average more with the bat when he takes 0-fa or 1-fa as opposed to when he gets 3+,
