This is literally the opposite of what happens with the Australian cricket team.
Well that's my memory going back since the 80s. You have me looking at scorecards at the moment for recent form - so far what I notice is that if both openers get less than 50 then Aussie struggles to make 300. But I am still going through scorecards so may be wrong.

Australia only better than other teams on the flattest of tracks (case in point when South Africa toured there). FMD. Expect the pitches in the return ashes to conjure up a few draws and the final result being 1-1 or 1-0 in favour of Australia.

In the last two or three years it has literally been if Clarke fails Australia makes less than 200. Openers are inconsequential.

hopefully usman's brief but terrible innings will remind stupid australian fans that he is not built for (stereotypical) english conditions.....
