Did anyone watch the Old Trafford match??

The point is that Australia have a stable of quality seam bowlers and there's not too much between all of them. Not many genuine swing bowlers though.

Question: Would you pick Starc for the Brisbane test if it started tomorrow (obviously discounting the current test being played) on current form?

You know what, Brisbane is the one venue where it would be a toss up because its actually a seaming wicket, but as I say we've got any combination of Harris/Pattinson/Siddle/Bird plus Watson (provided Watson bats at 6 so he can bowl overs) so I'd like having Starc in. Or consider a four front line seam bowling attack.

That's talking about a traditional Brisbane shield wicket though.

Why are people banging on about how Australia bowled as a unit, built up pressure etc.

England built up the pressure. They cruised to 149-2 after ~50, a very comfortable position that was after a very slow morning session - the bowling was garbage. Then they got out and 5-8 batted like they were in a coma, before mostly chucking it away.

Aus bowlers built up pressure by not letting england score too many when they were batting well, then tightening the screws once they started throwing wickets away.

Not score too many? They coughed up leg-side ****e every over. England were going at about 2 an over at lunch, so they must have been going at double that after it. And Trott wasn't attacking, he was just putting the rubbish away - something the rest of them were incapable of doing because of a broken mindset. Then you've got the ultimate joke performance against Lyon's straight-breaks.

England lost their second wicket when they had 107 runs on the board, this was after almost 40 overs, we kept it pretty tight thanks, batsmen don't just score slow because they feel like it.
