I swear bad weather has saved England's ass a lot in recent years, but the bottom line is you can't expect things will always go your way, and we've been skating on thin ice by losing the first two games. Something like this was always on the cards...
Just more proof, if it was needed, that god is an Englishman.

Rodding it down now. An hour for clear up means on at 4 if it stops raining this instant but then you're starting to look at last nights light reading.

You don't need an hour for clean up in modern day cricket. 20 mins drains most pitches if there isn't any rain. Its actually quite hard not to feel for the Aussies, they have dominated every session of the Test and deserve to win.

You'd need it for the time it takes from inspection etc.

Douglas Jardine would have said otherwise.

All irrelevant now as that what was coming from the south has hit. It won't stop for long enough to get a game on now.

Its being raining in the West Midlands for 3 hours, so if that is moving north and there is already rain there I can't see much chance for play though.

he's damn economical, but I swear Watson's bowling has lost a lot of potency in recent times. He used to always be the bowler to come on and actually show up the others by getting some movement.
He's only good against Asian teams/South Africa, he's always looked utterly innocuous against England.
