Not sure what else the noise could have been bat was nowhere near the pad.Sounded like an edge to me.
Happens heaps tbhI've never seen so many edges that haven't shown up on hotspot in a series. Surely climate must affect it or something.
Can't even hang on to Bale ffsAgain, snicko yes, hotspur no. Starting to think hotspur is pretty hopeless with faint edges.
It's just poorly understood. You get some false negatives, but the fact that you don't get false positives means it's definitely still useful.Hot Spot still has its uses, but as the comms have said it'll miss a few. I'd much rather both used in conjunction, with something on Snicko being enough evidence even if there's nothing on Hot Spot.
Yeah, this sums up what I mean in a much better way. Also has been useful a couple of times for showing whether it was bat or pad first. It's just poorly understood. You get some false negatives, but the fact that you don't get false positives means it's definitely still useful.
Trouble is snicko takes way too long to get through.Probably for another thread, but isn't snicko more reliable than hot spot? It seems that way from the series to date anyway.
80 overs left, 7 wickets in hand. Barring rain (although that seems unlikely) Australia will walk IMO.Fair bit in the wicket this morning really. If they get anywhere near the full compliment of overs I think Australia will win no problem. Big if though.
If only we had some sort of system to review umpires' decisionsOne was given by the ump, the other wasn't. Not hard to understand IMO.
Thanks scoop.England to either win it or lose it. Without rain, I don't think they'll survive the day.
Unless Bell proves me wrong.
