There are two batsman out there. If Bell is on strike, I have no problem at all for giving Smith an over to try his luck. At this stage we have our leader of the attack and Harris bowling and its just 14 overs until a new ball. Worth a shot.

Yeah does seem strange to be bowling Harris now as he'll be needed for the new cherry. Needs some control back though.

Interesting point Nasser brings up there about Clarke leaving England with a chase. Weather might ruin it of course but could be interesting.

Clarke will go win at all costs IMO. Hope England aren't negative if they're offered a small chance in a reasonable amount of time.

I think he will as well. A lot of captains would not though and even if he does not want to say so he must be desperate not lose 7 games in a row.

It would have to be a suicidal declaration for England to go for it. Probably send in KP early and shut up shop as soon as he holes out.

Did something similar happen last summer?

Yeah, at Headingly. Only we continued to push for the win even after KP was out and it was only when Prior got out that we stopped. Foot was on the other foot then though, because we needed to win the game to have any hope of winning the series.
