Arsenal need to be more like the Bees. Lose our keeper to Cardiff on Monday, have a replacement in by today.
David Button is meant to be pretty good as well apparently.

Has played for about a million different teams on loan as well.

City have brought in some exciting players, looking forward to seeing them this season.

Are United fans worried at the lack of action?
Not really. Only really need to sign one CM. Someone like Fellaini or someone like Modric/Fabregas. McCarthy would be a good buy also. The rest of the squad is fine as is with Zaha lighting a fire under the wingers currently there and Fabio back to add quality depth to fullback.
Ideally would want to have signed the one or two CMs by now but as long as it's done before the deadline it's fine. The squad as it is is still good enough to challenge regardless.

If I see another United fan suggest signing Cesc to play in a CM pairing with Carrick or something equally stupid, I'll explode. You don't deserve him.

Not really. I'm worried about the transition to Moyes and Mourinho back at Chelsea, though. I'd be looking forward to the season starting a bit more if we made a big signing but I think our squad's fine.

They'd be well advised to steer well clear imo. Good player and all, but makes Suarez look calm and level-headed.

Apparently we didn't approach him, Barton's agent approached Everton directly to see if we'd be interested in setting up a deal. Our primary target, surprise surprise, is a current Wigan player, James McCarthy. I'd certainly prefer McCarthy, younger, more talented, and wages will be lower. I'm not completely against signing Barton though. I think he'd be a solid signing, and add a bit of tenacity to the midfield. He's an Everton fan too, so I don't think he'd do anything too stupid to annoy the fans; if anything it could be the making of him as a player. We'll see, I'd certainly prefer McCarthy.

Oh, and Spurs should clearly just take Madrid's money and then just send them Kenny McEvoy....

I think Marseilles has helped him a bit TBH, apart from calling people Ladyboys (but its ok, he's not signing for Liverpool) - but even still, calling people fags is better than burning them with fags, so its a step in the right direction.

Looks like Soldado to Spurs is going to happen, that is one slice of the Bale money very well spent.

Think they are going to try and hold the Bale deal off as long as possible and make as many signings now before the prices go through the roof when they cash in. Don't want to get burnt like Liverpool did with the Torres money when they got Carroll.

I hear this a lot but it's really counter-intuitive to me. I'm not aware of anyone in economics that's argued that having a lot of money weakens your negotiating position.

I'm pretty sure Liverpool ended up paying so much because they asked Chelsea for £15m+Carroll for Torres. Sort of had more to do with Abramovich's hard-on for Torres than Liverpool getting bent over. I guess rich clubs aren't so fussed about fighting over every penny, so often end up paying too much. But I can't see Levy becoming any less of a cheap-skate just because he's rich.

Apparently some numpty from 1Direction has signed for Doncaster Rovers.

I guess it's some kind of publicity stunt wrapped around York****e Day, but could these ***** **** off about now.

Not sure why its an issue or why One Direction e the target of so much hate tbh. If he's good enough I've certainly got less issue with it then the thus, racists, murderers and rapists that play professional football.
