*Official* Second Test at Lord's

Congrats to England. Woeful from the Aussie batsmen. You'd think that will be the Ashes, can't see Aus coming back from a thrashing like that.

Really good performance. Not yet scaling the heights of, say, the India series from a couple of years back but we've bowled well and certain players have batted well.

Hopefully we play better at OT as I'd quite like an innings victory.

Please let Old Trafford be a better test match than this. I've got tickets for Durham on the saturday and I'm praying it's not a dead rubber.

Outstanding result, a resounding victory of the sort we used to be on the wrong end of in Ashes series gone by. There are still areas for improvement in this series, as has been said already, Cook, KP, Trott and Prior not yet reaching their own lofty standards and the catching today was pretty ordinary, but it would be wrong to focus on those right now when we've completed such an outstanding Test win.

Yes we all know this Australia side is not one of the strongest Test teams going around right now, but the way England have dealt with them despite not being in absolute top form has been most impressive. Ian Bell has begun this series in sparkling form, digging in when required at TB and playing more typical and fluent innings' at Lords this week, again just when we needed them. Joe Root was fantastic yesterday showing his full repertoire and easing any premature concerns over his future at the top of the order for now.

The bowling unit looked in good order again, and was pleased with Swann's return of 9-122 in the match. These pitches really do suit us, the dry nature giving us the chance to exploit any reverse swing that's on offer and also the threat of Swann when the ball turns and bounces at decent pace.

Catching/the missed stumping is a hangover from the New Zealand series, something that needs to be sharpend fast or it will start to cost us. We could have finished the game much quicker today if we get rid of Clarke on 2 and Root takes a regulation edge off Siddle.
