Left handed or not, if the keeper has a decent chance of getting there (which he will if it's to the left of slip) then he just has to go, he has a better chance of taking it and it takes the guesswork out of it.
I know a couple of left handed first slips who actually stand pretty wide to RHBs because they're more comfortable moving to their left though. To be fair Clarke was in a very orthodox position and it was definitely Haddin's catch but it's not a hard and fast rule IMO.

How unrealistic is that Ashes ad for the upcoming home series here, with it showing Clarke and Watson actually talking to each other?

If Australia make 600 I'll let a different Aussie pick my avatar each day until the end of the series. Just won't happen.
Phew, close one.

Extending this out for the rest of the series and reducing the bar to 500, i.e OZ make 500 at any point and the uves and spikeys of this world get daily control over my avatar

Should probably put it in the avatar thread, but.
