*Official* First Test at Trent Bridge

For all his talk Swann was way to short early on in the test, and way to full today. Really struggled with his length.
Yeah, wasn't his best match, but he did help create pressure at times, particularly yesterday, after they'd got of to their fast start. So to did Finn actually, for a while, was good bowling from us.

Hmm I dunno about this. Swann looked pretty pedestrian for long stretches of this Test (and particularly today)
Yeah, thought Swann had a poor game, thing is though he rarely gets smashed even when off form. If the pitches stay as dry he will surely have a say particularly at Old Trafford.

Still want us to go with Monty and Swann at OT, doubt it will happen. Could get the added bonus of Ravi being picked at 6 for his bowling, that would be cool:cool:

I'd love Monty to play there, had a brilliant record at OT before they moved the pitch round. He loved the bounce there which I presume is still the same.

Yeah, no. I really don't think Finn is stupid at all. Always comes across as intelligent and well educated in interviews etc. It's amazing how many people confuse poor control of length with stupidity.
I'm talking about his bowling being dumb, not himself :p

Wow tht haddin caught behind hotspot was marginal. Brave call. The sound was clear, i felt he nicked it in real time, but wouldnt have given that out just on hotspot.

Watching it again on Sky and Haddin nailed that. You can tell by looking at him. Looks straight back, head drops. He knows.

Thought he was very lucky not to get smashed tbh. Bowled a stack of full tosses which weren't dispatched.

Yeah, a cricket brain is something even some of the most talented players don't have.
Honestly if a pro bowler can't work out bowling line/length and trying to keep it full is the way to go, then I'd question how smart the person actually is. Bowling theory in itself really isn't particularly complicated. Hell even Siddle seemed to have worked it out after about 5 years.

Match situation possibly why he didn't today, nerves got to the England bowlers (bar Anderson) but plenty of freebies for the Aussies were missed which would normally get tonked.
