Should never have been picked out of position. He should be dropped but he won't be. Scratchy 50 in huge next test to save his spot will be odds on.Amazed at all the comments on Cricinfo pointing the finger at Cowan as the fall guy. Hasn't the guy been sick this Test? Not everyone can be Eddie Paynter. If he was in the best XI for this Test then, even if Aus lose, he shouldn't be dropped for a poor performance when ill.
http://www.cricketweb.net/forum/ash...apses-post-2007-ashes-series.html#post2403682I think the blame rests on Watson. I'm not sure why, but I'm sure it does.
Oh dear, look at you. "You've got a hiding coming up in England first fella" - now you've seen a contest and want to have your cake and eat it too. No. The pitch began turning square in the final hour last night and we are 6 down with an impatient keeper and debutant at the crease and nearly half the target still to get. If you lose from here, it's a choke. No getting around it.Despite Siddle, Pattto and Starc doing no good in the first innings, that is a ridiculously strong tail.......I think too much is being made of England being in the box seat. We have our noses in front at best.
Will be very interesting to see how Agar goes, had zero pressure or expectation on him in the first innings and he milked it..........now he's got an Ashes victory riding on his shoulders. I'm not sure we'll see that cheeky grin and cute little smile too much during this second crack.
****ing hell these are long days waiting for the cricket to start.
They ****ing better win it this summer. Cricket Australia may think they can somewhat get away with losing the series in England but not again straight after with this scheduling at home. Cricket is teetering on the edge here, make no mistake this summer is D-Day for Australian Cricket. Cricket Australia have dug themselves and Cricket quite a hole to get out of.Australia are regaining the Ashes in Oz. A matter of six months, that's all. All the talk can be put to bed. Win. lose, keep at the ****ers. What fight, won a lot over.
Yeah agree fully. I can't stand that shemale either, kick it out. Also, Broad's non-walk is a horrific look for the game. If you want to be a dill and treat a scratch the same as a dismembered corpse that's your prerogative, but someone smashing a spinner to slip and not walking is very crude, and you need only gauge the reaction from neutrals to see that something needs to be done about it. Broad should be banned in my opinion, and Dar either suspended or sacked. Like it or not, there are degrees to dismissals. A thin edge or a marginal catch, they -are- marginal, and they require people to be good at what they do to make good calls. Really, how many players do we think would not have walked after that? I almost feel bad for the guy - like, he's not going to be able to shake this. It's going to define him for the rest of his career.
I probably hate broad the most out of anyone on this site but even I think he was entitled to do what he did. Also, Broad's non-walk is a horrific look for the game. we've done well so far, with clarke having done nothing more than a sharp catch. bit concerned with our bowling thoughOn the cricket itself, I think we can discount the idea that, barring one of the sides suddenly getting much much worse (or better, which is less likely), this series is going to be a procession. Very, very tight cricket and England have had to dig seriously deep to even be in front at this stage.
oh but when the black guy got banned you didn't care. RACISTI promise myself I wouldn't engage the diatribe about Broad in here but seriously, banning him would be an infinitely worse decision than the one to not give him out. If he got banned I honestly think I'd stop following cricket as closely for a little while, and that's coming from someone who doesn't really enjoy watching Broad play or his general demeanour.
Be interesting to see what people think of this now. Very typical Watson innings - forms a good opening partnership, dominates and then holes out for 50 odd. Should blame for the batting collapse be mainly attributed to him then?
how so?we've done well so far, with clarke having done nothing more than a sharp catch. bit concerned with our bowling though
