you couldn't see cos of all the shadows, not sure exactly when the bails come off, and some studs were probably behind the line, completely different situation. For Trott, every piece of evidence pointed to it being out, but you want the decision to say just because one piece of technology wasn't tried?
yeah, what about in like the 1950s when they referred decisions but hot spot didn't exist yet?

Yeah, seems technology has proved Erasmus right but really don't know how he was sure enough to overrule.

Trott would have been really lucky with the lack of hotspot it has to be said, but don't know how Erasmus gave the decision with out it.
We got HotSpot. We just didn't get it from side on. Luckily enough we didn't need it because Trott turned his bat around. The no side-on HotSpot there definitely demonstrated a flaw that needs addressing but it didn't really matter this time.

Thought we only saw it after the decison? Although I have no idea if Erasmus gets exactly the same footage.

I'm quite happy to accept that Trott probably didn't hit that but I don't understand how the third umpire can turn down a stumping appeal then overturn that lbw appeal.

And we really need to change what 'umpire's call' is for lbws, Root was out everyday of the week. You might as well play with 2 stumps if we're not giving those.
