Surely Trott got a bit of bat on that! Unless there is camera trickery involved the ball changed direction after it went past the bat and not because of any swing around. Root strangled to a poor delivery down legside, to be fair to Starc he got it spot on the following ball.

English pundits seem in shock!Presumably those predicting a 10-0 hammering beginning to eat their words as early as tea on the second day of the series!

We're far from out of this, but we do really need to show some quality from here on in. KP really got to step up here and see us through to the close with Cooky. This should still be a belting enough batting deck for the rest of today and into tomorrow.
This makes the ashes 10 x more interesting IMHO, whether or not you are English.

I don't know if this has been posted yet, but up there for tweet of the year.

that much deflection from that little distance to travel to the pad would have been a thick edge, the kind of edge that would have produced even a front on hotspot, pretty clear that was out IMO.
so what explains the deflection? e: actually disregard this, i spent too long thinking of burgey hashtags

**** this. Was going to bed at 10, then there was an extra half hour and it was too much fun. Then I thought of wait til midnight but too pumped by the New Sobers. Now I want to go to bed but it's a fuxking hat trick ball over tea.

Got a 6 am gym session lined up too and a busy Friday at work. This is ****.

But it's so so good.

England got the wobbles here.

Batting doesn't get easier till the ball gets soft it seems

Aussies will get some reverse in 20-30 overs, so they won't see real good batting conditions till tomorrow.

Games on a knifes edge here.

**** interesting, I want demolition. This is unacceptable. There must be serious repercussions for these players. They have shamed their country. With a bit of help from crooked umpires, obv.

So two forms of technology not showing what I want, but I want the review system which uses technology to give the decision my way?

Perhaps or also incorporate the 3rd form of evidence which is watching what happened. Your logic is what causes planes to crash

Im sorry. So what deflected the ball then?
Nothing. Pretty confident that replay is just an opitical illusion essentially. Firstly the pad moves with the ball's impact giving the impression the ball has also moved more than it has. Secondly the ball wasn't holding its line anyway, as alluded to by others.
