I'm trying to remember the last time I watched such a remarkable period of test cricket. I guess the Philander/Watson test in SA or Adelaide in 2006/7.

Crazy stuff though. Agar obviously has a long way to go as a bowler but he'll be a very good number 8 in the future if he does end up being a frontline spinner.

I think Agar's good balls are there but yeah his bad ball is in there to often

Patto gonna be so filthy. Knows he'll now be batting 11. Expecting a few beamers in the England second dig in retribution.

Yeah he definitely has some talent he just isn't good enough to be picked as a test spinner yet I don't think. I guess his selection was a combination of wanting a left-armer and his batting ability, but I don't think there's much doubt that Lyon is the more accomplished bowler right now. Hard to take the "pick bowlers to bowl" line though given that this test would be just about over if it wasn't for Agar's batting.

He just didn't settle, his FC record is excellent (if a small sample size), he is able to take wickets on unhelpful wickets, I imagine he would be a little more effective in Aus where he gets more bounce, he is a better bowler than what he showed yesterday I feel. He has also apparently outbowled Lyon in the nets and the tour games.

When Clive decided that he didn't need a spinner because he had great quicks coming from home he based it off the Aussie attack of Lille and Thomo. Would Australia do well to pick our best bowlers no matter what they bowl?
