I can't see Suarez leaving unless we extort Real for a ridiculous price. He just signed another contract recently. It seems every time he goes to Uruguay he has this kind of interview. And if Bale goes to Real, I doubt Suarez will follow up.

Liverpool sign Iago Aspas, at £7.7m apparently. Can't say I've seen him myself but it's about as far removed from the previous scouting era as is possible so I'm optimistic. Balague seems keen too. Apparently he's a player in the Borini mould but just much, much better at everything.

Oh, and if Suarez leaves, then we'll still fulfill our nutter quota.
Apparently he is also like Suarez in that he is a very hard-working player high up the pitch, technically good, and actually has an end result (12 goals and 6 assists for a relegation battling team is pretty good). Will be good competition for Downing I reckon.

It's not like Real have not made two massive signings in the same year before though.

I never saw the match last night but every report i've read said Seamus Coleman was MOM by a street. Everton will miss Moyes finding bargains like him, they have to hope the scouting network remains the same under whoever comes in.

Sure, but on Ronaldo and Kaka who both had far better careers when they were sold. It's not impossible, I just think it makes it less likely. On a tactical level I don't think it helps them a lot considering that both Suarez and Ronaldo take a ****load of shots and demand to be the central figure in attack.

Suarez is widely reported to have a buyout clause of somewhere between 35 and 40m euro.
Tony Barrett has said it and he's worth listening to usually but at the moment its just a rumour. I wouldn't be surprised if there is one, but I'd be disappointed if they made it less than 40 million euros. We bought him for 23 million pounds ourselves.

Yeah you wouldn't want to stop Bale from shooting either. I reckon he's the best of the three at it.

They don't exactly have a history of worrying about how it'll work tactically between their world superstars, and their cash flows are insane so it's quite affordable to sign both. With a presidential election coming up on the back of a disappointing season it wouldn't surprise me at all. That's if they both decide to leave, of course.

Can't decide whether Ireland have improved since the Euros are we are just toss...
It would be virtually impossible for Ireland not to have improved.

Besides, England will never match up well against their fellow British nations.

I unreservedly love him. But he's clearly not as good as Kagawa as a Dortmund player. With United he's sort of a technically excellent utility attacker, not especially creative. It's harder to be that type of player at United, our off the ball movement isn't in the same league (not that anyone else's is).

All three have this unique skill that they've perfected, where they take control completely of a difficult pass and turn towards goal with one touch. I think it's something they work on a lot. At Dortmund there's always someone sprinting in behind from the wings when they do it, but at United he just ends up passing it sideways a lot.
Probably Footbonaut related.

Watching that video always depresses me, because I ****ing hate that my team are stuck in the footballing dark ages.

McCoist admitted in a press interview this season that training at Rangers hasn't really changed in 30 years.

Carrick didn’t do himself many favours last night. Gerrard and Lampard to be the starting midfielders for 2014. And your thought Danny 2 goals Welbeck leading the line was a scary prospect, imagine those two again + the dynamic James Milner and guys like Barry on the bench. **** me, you almost want Lewandowski and Jovetić to prevent that from happening.

Would love to have a go on the footbonaut machine. Reckon your skill levels would improve pretty rapidly and drastically if you used it frequently.

FMD that machine is the ducks nuts, isn't it? I know an 11 year old midfielder who would absolutely go ballistic if he had a chance to have a go on that.
