Sheep Draft version 4.0

There is an obvious tension that exists between wanting to pick an ATG, but needing to pick an obscure cricketer in order to avoid a 'Sheep'. So knowing when to go for the ATG, and when to go for the obscure cricketer is the name of the game. I think that there are some simple principles that can be followed when trying to decide between those 2 categories during a pick.

Of course the risk of getting a 'Sheep' will never go away, but I believe that the risk can be minimised somewhat, while at the same time grabbing the occasional ATG.

That said, Engineer and Adcock were illogical picks by me, and I think that I understand why.
I'm interested (kind of) why you'd call those picks illogical, I definitely think you can play the percentages a bit but all it takes is someone to be thinking like you and you are screwed.

There are a couple of things that people have done so far which as far as I can tell, isn't playing the percentages, but who knows perhaps gut instinct is the way to go, especially with your first pick.

Anyone who has passed a question and wants to dish out a sheep, email me please.

That sub continental question is proving to be difficult,

Whatever it takes!!!
yeah.. that AEIOU was a horrible question, Nuf.. Generally u gave us great questions that are not easily obvious but have just enough good players to keep people interested but the AEIOU is the worst u ve thrown out in these sheep drafts..

lol... I was all sleepy coz he posted the question at 8 AM Eastern Time here.. I thought it included the SC guys and hence a good question but then I saw it was defaulted to the non SC guys.. Pretty difficult coz this is one question where even our own picks are gonna be like sheeps.. ;)

Me too. I like the difficult questions. It's what makes this draft so good and why this is the first draft I've participated in. Teams that aren't packed to the rafters with ATGs are far more interesting, imo.

Pretty happy with the bloke I got. Diamond in the rough.

lol.. seems fairly standard.. those who got good ones think it is a good question, I did not and I think it was a rough question.. :)

To be honest, tough questions makes the 'sheep' drafts interesting. So I guess it's a good question even if I failed to get my player twice.

The more I think about your statement the more profound and correct it seems. This is because it essentially means that the individuals on Cricketweb have become one collective mind which thinks the same, and consequently selects the same players. Such is the influence that we have over eachother without even knowing it.

How else could you explain the clashes in the 'Subcontential Question'? By rights it should be all done and dusted by now for the simple reason that there are numerous excellent players to choose from. The pool is relatively enormous.
