Sheep Draft version 4.0

Cabinet and Fred getting 2/3 was very good too.

It was actually 5 who got 0 in the end. I'm looking forward to seeing who people pick especially in questions 4 and 5 now.

Must've been some very good players who got through in 3.1. So happy with the guy I got through in that one. Probably could've got someone better for 5.1, but it was 1am when I made my pick FFS.

Engineer getting picked 4 times is just crazy when you think how many great players have come out of the Subcontinent.

Re-picks for 4.2 and 5.2 sent.

I thought I'd get that one easily. Very surprised. I guess , like me, people were trying to secure a keeper early?

Keepers are never selected early in a Draft, with the possible exception of Adam Gilchrist. Normally they are selected in Rounds 9-10-11.

Which just goes to show how much the emotion of fear messes with people heads. In this particular scenario it's the fear of 'Sheep', as strange as that sounds.

It's taken me an entire Voodoo Draft (run by Jager) and 2 Rounds of this Draft to work what the correct strategy should be for this style of selecting players (yes there is one and it's very simple). Pretty sure I've made a complete hash Q5. God I'm slow.

Got to be kidding me...
There is an obvious tension that exists between wanting to pick an ATG, but needing to pick an obscure cricketer in order to avoid a 'Sheep'. So knowing when to go for the ATG, and when to go for the obscure cricketer is the name of the game. I think that there are some simple principles that can be followed when trying to decide between those 2 categories during a pick.

Of course the risk of getting a 'Sheep' will never go away, but I believe that the risk can be minimised somewhat, while at the same time grabbing the occasional ATG.

That said, Engineer and Adcock were illogical picks by me, and I think that I understand why.

No worries Howe, cheers for the heads up.

We are just waiting on harsh, honest and spikey. I'll remind everyone to have a look and see which players are a) banned b) already in another persons team.

We have a list of banned players, so would it be possible to have a list of selected players as well??? Hard enough keeping track as it is, and we're not even half way through.

(Thanks for the hint - resending pick now)
