England should declare now. There's no way New Zealand will get near 360, and the forecast for tomorrow looks awful. I can understand why they won't, but the risk of doing so is minimal.
I just don't get it. If they declare now they should easily bowl NZ out by the end of the day. Why risk a washout tomorrow.

I'd given Trent Bridge one, but the rest should be split between The Oval & Lords, yeah.
Old Trafford and Edgbaston piss all over the pair of them.

Headingley normally a cracking venue tbf, disappointing to see the place so empty really.

5 more overs IMO. Go hard to try and get the lead to 400 and then have a quick burst before lunch.

Ruddy hell, even by Kane's high standards that fifth ball (the wider one) was bloody filthy.

If that's not a chuck, etc, etc...

Well the last three innings we've been out after just 69 overs, 22.3 and 43.4. There's still 80 overs to be bowled today.

Exactly, then again a test win vs. NZ probably doesn't mean that much to them given they already have the series, so they may be happy enough with the 1-0 scoreline.

Question, can we claim the extra half hour even in a 98 over day? If so then we still have potentially 87 overs after this one minus the change of innings.

I don't think it makes any sense to declare before NZ are 100 runs per session away. That means a declaration at (or just before) tea. With the extra overs in todays and tomorrows third session, England have enough time to bowl the Kiwis out, even with some serious rain interfalls.

He has no home tons against the crims
Cook has (up to) 10 chances to get there this summer. It would surprise me a lot if he doesn't get there.

Def has potential, yeah. Certainly doesn't lose much in comparison to Bartin, Jeets or latter period Vettori.

If he's used more he will improve, IMHO. Stating the bleedin' obvious as I am.
In spite of his lack of control, he has one special quality none of those other names you mentioned have. He actually gets spin.

I know they will be soft runs and all that but really hope Bell comes out and plays some shots here, think his slow scoring has been his biggest problem this last year.

Gambhirers to jog on with the declaration talk. Why on earth would you give them a chance to draw the series ffs
Lol, You'd seriously give NZ a chance to score 380 odd in the last 2 days against England's bowling attack?
