I can only assume Tucker thought it pitched outside of leg.Boulty.
How that wasn't given I have no idea though.
1. Boult is faster than the England bowlers.when Trent Boult, finding more swing than any of the England bowlers, removed Alastair Cook and Jonathan Trott. Was it his slightly slower pace through the air allowing the ball to move? Maybe it was purely the vagaries of the ball picked out of the box.
Should be and one of Bracewell, Wagner, McClenaghan, Henry, Milne, Wheeler will surely be an excellent third seamer at some point.Boult and Southee are going to be such a gun pair in the future whenever there is swing.
It was Reiffel wasn't it? Can't believe a bowler like him didn't just fire the batsman as soon as it got anywhere near the padsI can only assume Tucker thought it pitched outside of leg.
Finn and Broad at maximum pace are quicker than Boult. Those two are scary quick when they want to be.Hendrix said:post that broke when i tried to reply
He's the name I most feared the most before the start of play. This is orgasmic so far though.Need to get rid of ****ing Prior. He's such a good player.
Agreed. And it's not the time now, but I think deep point to Prior is a good position - don't let him get any boundaries through there. Not yet though, at 74/5...Need to get rid of ****ing Prior. He's such a good player.
Yeah, completely agree. We've bowled fuller and reaped the rewards.New Zealand v England, 3rd Test, Auckland, 2nd day : New Zealand can prey on England's nerves | Cricket Features | New Zealand v England | ESPN Cricinfo

2. Maybe it's not the vagaries of the ball. Maybe it's immaculate seam position and pitching the ball up.

Some joke, surely? I've always believed that in these situations it's a question of sheer pot luck which of the bowlers Bell ends up donating his wicket to. Merit rarely has anything to do with it. He just gets out....somehow. Still, it's better for England that he's safely back in the hutch. The longer he hangs around the more he convinces his teammates that there are hidden gremlins in the pitch which don't in fact exist. I'd rate him higher if he'd only quit the fidgeting and going nowhere fast, and got a golden duck in each crisis.Huge wicket ! First time Southee lands a perfectly consistent over and he strikes.
Couldn't have 3 more better wickets either; Cook, Trott & Bell.
Reiffel is umpiring at Southee's end.It was Reiffel wasn't it? Can't believe a bowler like him didn't just fire the batsman as soon as it got anywhere near the pads
Better average and more runs too. FMD.I love how Bell is so (rightly) maligned yet he has the same number of test hundreds as Martin Crowe.
Bell's got a nicer cover drive but he's not in the same class as Crowe.I love how Bell is so (rightly) maligned yet he has the same number of test hundreds as Martin Crowe.
And then you think back to the attacks that Crowe generally faced compared to the ones against whom Bell has cashed in.I love how Bell is so (rightly) maligned yet he has the same number of test hundreds as Martin Crowe.
