"Not the most... impressive first over from Anderson, he'll want to be a bit blah blah blah"Wtf? Was he saying they're wasting the new ball or something?
...what's wrong with that? Especially if he explicitly says he's talking about the first over?"Not the most... impressive first over from Anderson, he'll want to be a bit blah blah blah"
You and me both. Not expecting much from Fulton here, if he can see off a dozen overs I will think of that as something of a success.
You should be fine, looks like he trying his very best to get out.We going to have to watch Fulton all session here? Can he just get out already.
Hmmm - Boycs isn't convinced at all about that on TMS. And unless we start to make some inroads then he may well be right. He's also saying that Finn should be on, and I reckon he's right about that as well. Not much point in him being in the side if we don't give him the new ball.Ahh lost the toss, interesting to hear Botham thinks that's the series sealed.
A little but not much and not really. Can't watch at the moment so the usual questions; much in the pitch, bowlers bowling well?
Pitch is a little quicker than Dunedin and Wellington (not that that's saying much) without a a lot of sideways movement. Anderson and Broad have been okay without looking too threatening while Fulton's once again looks like a walking wicket. Early doors, but could well be a good toss to lose for NZ.Can't watch at the moment so the usual questions; much in the pitch, bowlers bowling well?
The radio commentators have said that Fulton looks pretty good. Apparently moving his feet with a lot more purpose, and is wafting far less outside the off-stump.Pitch is a little quicker than Dunedin and Wellington (not that that's saying much) without a a lot of sideways movement. Sunshine too.Well this looks a good toss to have lost. Looks a decent track to bat on.
I think bowling first is probably the right call. Gives them the best possible chance of forcing a result if it turns out to be another England vs. the draw type match.Sunshine too.
That said just because it's not a minefield doesn't mean it's a duff call. It probably won't make a difference in the long run which order you bat in on a surface that doesn't break up, and so bowling first is just a case of being aggressive with your fresh bowlers.
