Would not be surprised to see Oz beaten easily here as Ojha is nothing more than a roller and is turning it square

Hate to think what it is going to do on day 5
we'll probably be bowling

wait no india will make like 1000 so yeah you're right

Don't think Hughes should play in the Ashes if Swann gets fit.
Tbt...he is batting exactly like a man who has opened all his life and now is being expected to start an innings against spin that too in a place like India and to make matters worse he has now been pushed one slot further down the order. Anyways think his international career is real jeopardy now and that's a real shame.

Smith looking busy and compact against spin which is no surprise because he is quite easily best player of spin among all the young batsmen in Australia, however won't be surprised if after getting a bit of start, he then just lobs a catch to one of the close-in fielders.

Tbh, I dont consider it a shame

Like Maxwell and Khawaja, he simply needs to do what Hayden did and go back to SS, work on his game and score thousands of runs

Both he and Oz cricket will be better for it

He did that already... I'd suggest that he'll be unlikely to get a another look in outside of unlikely events.

Don't think his form has anything to do with him being ****e in India tbh. I bet he'd plunder on more runs in SS right now and still be equally worse in such turning tracks.

Aus have pissed away a good start but, I tells ya, if someone had said we'd be 3-180 at tea I'd have taken it in a heartbeat given this batting lineup.

Cowan really needs this tea break, he's become bogged like a Camry in dunes...only 26 runs from his last 100 balls!!

Cowan's innings means that Hughes is probably ****ed for the near future. It will be better for him though.

Don't think Clarke has ever batted at #3 ever even in FC cricket apart from once in a Perth test, our best young batsman who is an opener is batting in the middle order, our keeper is batting at #6 and the whole squad is full of bits and pieces players, now is this the funky South African method of coaching at display or are the selectors making these calls, because it certainly doesn't look like Clarke is making these stupid decisions.

Wonder if our genius selectors will pick the Ashes team before the Champions Trophy

Given his form in odis, you'd have to think that Hughes will get picked for the CT and I can envisage scenarios where it's either no runs in CT/passenger on Ashes tour or heaps of runs in CT/not picked for Ashes

He has scored thousands of runs already in SS this season, the problem is the quality of SS cricket is no good these days, Hughes is struggling against spin but do you seriously think he would get to face any decent spin in Australia?
Currently the last leg of SS season is going on and almost all teams are struggling to put together even 200 runs on the board, I mean you seriously think any national prospect can actually improve and get better in such crappy playing conditions.
The best possible option for Hughes and his international career is to have him in the ODI and T20 sides, so that he can play around the world in different conditions against international quality bowlers rather than wasting even more time in the domestic circuit, and this is something that we might have to do with more and more young talent, because whatever **** is going on in Australian domestic cricket it is certainly hurting the future of the Australian national side.

wouldn't such crappy playing conditions encourage application and dare i say intent from the batsmen?
