I don't remember Finn doing the night watch before, at least not when Anderson was playing. Mantle handed over?

Boult not feeling to bad after yesterday then, 147k that last ball. Southee on the other hand looks stuffed.

FFS Doull repeating the exact same stupid points again & again is infuriating. He's a friggen broken record.

Saw the missed half chance in slips just now. Slips and gully need to stand within touching distance of the batsmen on this wicket it seems

Guptill would have caught it of course.

Atherton was commenting on this yesterday - compared him to Angus Fraser (iirc) who apparently always looked like he'd bowled for 6 hours before the morning's play had started.
Yeah, sounds about right for Gus. Always seemed to have the weight of the world on his shoulders.

The ball seems to have almost stopped swinging. Good news for England, bad news for anyone hoping for an interesting day's cricket. Or to stay up to 4:30am to watch the whole thing.

They've inched forward since then, but it feels something of a case of stable doors and horses.

I'll probably get slated for saying this, but I think if England have a good hour/first session, I think they should try and win the game.

Hmmmm, I think we can safely assume that the next two pitches will be pretty similar to this one, flat with average pace and bounce. Five days of cricket is what NZC will be after, bring in the $$$$$$$$
