Right now? Only Smith and Khawaja unfortunately, as they're the only blokes in the squad.Which other batsman can be given a go instead of the likes of Hughes/Cowan in Australia right now ?

and mitchell johnson!Right now? Only Smith and Khawaja unfortunately, as they're the only blokes in the squad.
We shouldn't/couldn't drop Hughes now as he has done all there is to do at the domestic level, he is the best batsman in Australia by some distance and whatever technical problems are there should be worked on within the national set-up, as for Cowan, for the next test Khawaja should come into the side in his place.Which other batsman can be given a go instead of the likes of Hughes/Cowan in Australia right now ?
Does it well tbf, beautful high elbow...Sachin gets more applause for picking his nose than Cowan got for that bondary
you want to drop the bloke who just faced 100 balls of top quality spin and keep the bloke whose been dismissed 4 times for 6 runs to spin #inveritythoughtsWe shouldn't/couldn't drop Hughes now as he has done all there is to do at the domestic level, he is the best batsman in Australia by some distance and whatever technical problems are there should be worked on within the national set-up, as for Cowan, for the next test Khawaja should come into the side in his place.
Now I like Hughes, but....he is the best batsman in Australia by some distance

very very very ordinary but don't miss Gavaskar stating how the catch was difficult since Dhoni couldn't reach it since he moved the wrong way to start with. Silly excuse for this happens with all inside edges. Then replay shows Dhoni did not just reach the ball he over-reached it and the ball actually hit the wrist of his catching hand and not finger tips. Promptly Mr all-time-legend gavaskar defended that as well. "See this is what happened, the ball hit his wrist. If it had hit the palm he would have caught it" Oh yes and if Hughes had got that sweep in the middle of the bat it would have been a boundary instead of a wicket for AshwinDhoni is a really ordinary keeper
For a man who doesn't score a whole lot of runs he sure as hell plays out a lot of balls, I think on an average he plays out atleast a 50 balls in every innings and that somewhat makes his failures especially in these conditions a lot more inexcusable.Good effort to face a hundred of them then, eh?
Yeah, so England should've kept picking Hick and Ramprakash through the 90s then should they?We shouldn't/couldn't drop Hughes now as he has done all there is to do at the domestic level, he is the best batsman in Australia by some distance and whatever technical problems are there should be worked on within the national set-up, as for Cowan, for the next test Khawaja should come into the side in his place.
England did keep picking Hick and Ramps in the 90s, didn't they?Yeah, so England should've kept picking Hick and Ramprakash through the 90s then should they?
Frequently he's not looked up to it (and let us not forget that the selectors couldn't pick him for the SA series as they were afraid about him being exposed by that attack) - so how can you justify picking him?
21 FC centuries at the age of 24 tells me he is a pretty damn good player and his achievement looks even more unique, when you take into consideration that many batsmen in Australia don't have half the amount of runs or centuries he has despite playing domestic cricket for almost a decade, unfortunately this is also something that makes him an easier target for the fans and journos every time he fails. Now I like Hughes, but....
