Punter just brought up his fifty at the WACA.

One of the rare occasions he's scored a 50 during a test in India.

Not sure how there's an avalanche of criticism of Cowan on cricinfo when he's just helped Australia get a very good start to the series with an opening partnership of 64?

29 is not a great innings on paper but in the circumstances it was very handy. Australia could not allow India to get early wickets and get their tail up.

People overlook the fact that Cowan and Warner have been eaily the best performed opening partnership in Test cricket since they came together. Why change that?
This.

Good session for our blokes. Would have taken that I'd reckon. More than a decent clip too.

Sensational start from Australia they are well on top. But these two must gone on with it after lunch because we've seen how quickly our batting can collapse before and we can't afford to waste this start and get rolled for 300.

From a base like this, and with a strong tail, we should be targeting 400+

India must be regretting not selecting Ojha as Harbhajan has looked awful...10 overs 0 for 42 on a track offering a lot of turn and against batsmen who don't play spin that well is woeful.

Warner looked jumpy and a bit rusty early on but has played very well since. He is maturing into a fine player.
