I rip into McCullum all the time but to steal a talking point from McMillan of all people, I like how he's showing faith in Williamson's bowling. At the FC level he's a front line spinner and has the ability to squeeze out more, so he's a good choice as a long term project spinner for a day where we might be able to field five or six genuine bowlers while retaining good batting depth, at least in ODIs.

Idea of him as a match-losing slowcoach is a complete myth. He's an accumulator, no more and no less.
Try to find an example of him facing a maiden.

Bell and Trott seem to have learnt nothing from the first match. A couple of wickets and the middle order will really have to go some to see us home. Is it really so hard to score at something close to a run a ball when you're well set?

Moving into the phase of the game where you can squeeze out wickets, though. England should take this from here but it's easy to see how it can go wrong.
