Reckon MJ is guaranteed to play as well but think that they will include Henriques at the expense of Pattinson

May well be second in line after Siddle as he's in form (tbf, he has bowled pretty well since coming back), runs in all day, some deludenoids reckon he has all-rounder potential and has played in India before

I dont necessarily agree with it but would be surprised if he wasnt a lock

i don't think pattinson is a lock, but that's due to doubts about whether starc is a 'safer' option, due to more game time less injures etc recently

just a ying yang thing for me. super reliable line and length bowler with a bit off the pitch. reckon need one from each end (he and siddle) here. Think he will replace siddle over the course of the ashes or after and then we will play bird with two of patto/starc/cummins/z

Because he's played two tests and I find it imponderable that anyone who's cast more than a cursory glance at a game of cricket in their life can't see that he's tailor-made to excel at test cricket.

But perhaps we were watching different matches.

Having said that, Pattinson is a gun bowler too. I think both are better than Siddle by a fair bit but they won't play am entire attack that has never played in India before.

Composition of the bowling attack the least of the worries, tbh. This squad, no matter the batting combo who lines up for the first Test, a decent shout for the worst against spin we've seen in years. The fact that India barely have a spinner will make any collapses just that much more embarrassing.
