Exactly, Steyn worries about accuracy more than anything else, once he feels he has a good rhythm he goes over 140km/h

yeah, it's just that his skiddy action makes him appear to be quicker.

he's almost 30, so keeps 140+ spells for the times when nothing is going their way.

at other times though, he focuses on bowling outrageous swing with amazing control.

as shown by his econ rate this match. very low.

Happy for ABDV, a 100, 11 dismissals and 4 byes conceded in 130 overs. I haven't seen this morning's play, but a couple of catches in the first innings were oustanding. If he's fit, I can't see this experiment being abandoned.

On the other side, gutted for Misbah, I was really hoping for him to ton up. Nonetheless, he was clearly not out in his first innings, so in my book he's only been out once in 212 balls; South Africa beware

the only positive from the game couple of middle order batsman had a good hit in the middle which hopefully will give them some confidence for next two games. If Pakistan has to compete then Ajmal and Younis ave to take leadership roles with rest chipping around them At the moment difficult to see anything else then a 3-0.

Are you comparing the Highveldt with English conditions? Highveldt the ball travels further and the ground is the size of a postage stamp (refer to 438 odi game). Huge difference in conditions

Steyn is a seam bowler not a swing bowler. On a slow pitch there is no need to run in and try and bowl 145km/h bolters as once it hits the pitch its reduce to 120 and lower. That is when he turns to swing and reverse with the older ball. Sub continent the ball is harder and takes longer to get soft and old unlike the Kookabura Australia used. That is why one can come in at 5 and smash centuries then get out when the new ball is there
