Why the hate for Devcich?
He has been playing cricket seriously for about 4 years only after trying his hand at rugby first. Here's a tip, he is probably the best natural athlete on display in today's match and is Only scratching the surface of his potential
Is he there yet? Of course not! But if he keeps improving as he has over the last two seasons then he will be a far better top order player than your limited lathams, Watlings, etc
Now that he is a one sport only guy you watch him improving. With a game or two left in the HRV he was only behind Jesse on the MVP! That was a fluke was it?

His innings wasn't rubbish, he played the best shot of the innings (dernbach effortlessly over long on) and this is his first innings at this level against this quality of opposition
The English typically tried to bully the 3 NZ batsman with bounce and apart from Rutherford (because they bowled wider at him) they all looked uncomfortable. HR was out to the first straight short ball, don't think that wont be bowled at him many more of them on Saturday
Just hate how you lot have been slating AD when he has been very good for two years at the first class level

No one said 70-1 was a bad start, so I'm not sure what your point is there. Devcich is an average player, and I'm sure David Lloyd would agree. If he improves, I have no problem changing my opinion of him.
Why would David Lloyd agree? More rubbish to prove a point!
Why is he an average player? I've already given you a reason why judging him from five years ago is flawed. He played as a spinner first up so his numbers are misleading
If you were to judge Richardson, Franklin, Styris etc on their career numbers when their more specific numbers aren't too bad when they specialised
I guess all I'm saying is this constant rubbishing of Devcich, when the last 2 years says he is a vastly improved player plus the NZ Selectors seem to think he has something about him is annoying

Devcich is average now. If you had watched his innings today you would see why, so so lucky to still be in and hasnt scored at more than a mediocre rate
