And besides, they've been playing for no more than 20 years, so there's not much of a time span difference between 'since Ashwell Prince' and 'All the time'. Unless we count the '60s side too, which I think nobody was thinking of.

Bad post from you because my point wasn't about Prince and I wasn't bigging him up. My point was that they ddnt have a solid batsman after AB as the reason for these collapses.
Prince was a solid batsman and provided stability to SA lower order. He rescued SA from bad situations ina few occasions before Dumiiny happened. After that Prince was shuffled around. He performed poorly and was dropped later. Nobody has performed as well as Prince for SA in that position.

I know what you mean and agree with you. But here Pakistan bowled really well and after AB, their batting is not all that great. Even AB has stagnated as a batsman for a while now.

I don't understand why people are being so dramatic. The average first innings score is 250, yes its very disappointing that not even one of the top seven converted their starts. Mainly because of the pressure building and them not scoring as freely as they would like, but people are going on like its absolutely pathetic and I just don't see that.
