It really is a strange scorecard for Australia. Only 3 wickets down yet one of the 5 provides 90 runs off 62, the rest 43 off 58.

How the hell did Voges get himself in this 20 20 team?Bailey is a fine bat but any 20 20 team comprising of both Bailey and Voges just doesn"t fill me with confidence in me.The selectors just doesn"t have a clue when it comes to selecting a 20 20 team and the results have shown that.

I like Warnie. Says some funny things though. Like taking the p1ss by urging Mick Beer. How I laughed. Until he was picked. Then he bagged the selectors for barring Pattinson from playing BBL. What will he learn in grade? said Warney. Well he'll find out that he can bowl 8 overs atleast Shane. What would he find out in BBL? That he could bowl 4? How to get suspended and lose a cool 5 large by throwing a ball at an opponent?

Then Warney said Marsh should play for Australia. Shaun Marsh I said, the sound of his name bumpily riding on top of a nervous and incredulous chuckle. I worry about Marsh. Keeps me awake. What if he gets up from the couch and hurts himself walking to the fridge? What if he lives alone? In the country. Could be rolling around holding his knee like a penalty pulling striker for days. I can feel the concern welling up right now. Might call WA police and ask if they can send a constable around to see if he's ok.

Yeah agreed completely I said it ad nauseum during play that we needed to up the tempo at both ends. We needed a few more Bailey type innings of 11 from 9 (so 33 from 27 vs. 25 from 29) so for Voges to face almost 5 overs and score just 25 it really didn't cut it at all with so many wickets and big hitters in the sheds. Marsh was rubbish too obviously but we had the opportunity to recover thanks to Warner and Voges didn't capitalize.

Australia as a whole are too cautious when it comes to T20 Cricket. We select a lineup that looks similar to a traditional ODI team and don't utilize our big hitters with high strikes enough. Its almost as though the think tank believe that its better for one of the middle order bats to make 36* (30) instead of one bat making 20 (14) and the next making 16* (10).

Voges' strike rate was about 150 in the BBL, and the only people higher than him after playing a number of games were Rohrer and Reece Masten.

Having said that, Voges played a **** awful innings, undoubtedly.

But I will say this, and it will sound like I'm Bailey bashing, which I'm not, but Bailey has absolutely no place in the Australian t20 side. His captaincy isn't enough to warrant him holding his place as a specialist skipper. You could at least hang your hat on Voges having a great BBL, but you can't hang anything on Baileys continued selection.
