Cricket Web - Book Project

Son Of Coco

Cricket Web: All-Time Legend
The inclusion of the 'Hear, Hear Lend Me Your Ear' thread could have turned this into one of the most important pieces of literature ever published.

Can you post up a picture of a page of the book. It'll be interesting to see what it looks like in the printed word. Presumably without avatars distracting the reader.

Also, please give us monthly updates on the sales figures.

Interesting idea and I wish you the best of luck with it. Not sure about the threads chosen but I'm sure there are good reasons for their selection. I can't imagine I'd be thrilled with a gift that has TEC and Richard going at it for pages when I wouldn't even spare the time to read it for free but then each to their own.

Aside from the, IMHO, questionable choice of content this is an impressive project to bring to fruition.

If I'm not mistaken, most of the dual-poster arguments have been massively cropped and cut.

Did the book have any dedications in it?

If pictures were posted in one of the threads, did these make it to the book?

How can I put people on ignore in the Written Word?

EDIT: And thanks for the pageys, Freddo. Very interesting. The third example you've shown, did Richard post that picture of Warne, or was his post 'empty'?

Here are some sample pages
Hmm. Content issues aside, it looks good and the illustration is cool.

On a separate note, does anyone know what on earth is ANDMARK is talking about the first example page?

One thing I do like is that it looks like typing mistakes such as "were none exactly bad" from the second page have been kept in which gives it more of the forum feel and a nod to its roots.

1. I did want to include a dedication to each of my ex-wives but it would have meant excluding two chapters so no

2.No - the only pictures are John Ireland's drawings which pop up at appropriate places throughout the text - at least I hope they are appropriate!

3. By not purchasing? But that isn't recommended :)

This was a deliberate decision, although idleness would probably have made it the default position anyway

Looks decent. Not sure whether I'd buy something that I can read for free though.

I was thinking about this the other day. While its supposed to be a light hearted project, I don't think it'd be too sentimental to add something about Craigos and Fardin in the foreword.

I also do hope that the book isn't full of quotes from certain members who in the past have been guilty of inserting their opinions on every topic regardless of relevance.
