And hotspot shows no edge....

Tbh I didn't think he hit it on first look either
neither did I, but I am watching on iSky stream. So logged on here to hear some opinions, as the comms not interested

and to find out if there is DRS in this series?

EDit: Comms just said there is DRS. So Guptill must have been in no doubt

Take out Zimbabwe and Bangladesh and Guptil averages 25 after 26 tests with no hundreds.
There's no one else. Hamish Rutherford might have pushed for a place but he's not hit the runs this season.

It's these two or else back to Papps, How etc

BTW, anyone else more depressed about losing Southee than Taylor for this Test series considering the way he's been bowling?
Nah, Southee's only being playing well for a handful of games, and he continues to look vulnerable once the shine wears off. Taylor is proven quality.

yeah I guess. With Taylor our batting is still crap, just a little less so.

With Southee bowling the way he was our bowling attack looks good. Without him there's too much resting on Boult.
Exactly, Southee (of late) give us the ability to get 20 wickets.

I'm imagining Jesse Ryder in domestix mode out there right now.

Even if he got Southee'd again it would still be pretty fun.

Jesse Ryder being at his peak makes it slightly more depressing.
Ryder is still our most naturally gifted 'batsman' for mine. Also being a left-hander really helps with the balance of the side.

Why can't we have this side for this test :@

McCullum
Gutpill/Flynn
Williamson
Taylor
Ryder
Watling
Vettori
Bracewell
Southee
Gillespie
Boult
