Seems Contra and Sachin have got their wish and Sachin apparently to play the England and Pakistan ODI's to tune up for the Australia test series.

Rootster getting a debut. Don't know who drops out. Possibly Briggs.

I really don't think Briggs was captained that well in the last game. Bringing him on when Yuvraj was in was toxic. Briggs should have been used in the powerplay when the seamers were getting shafted. Briggs hasn't been treated that well throughout his england career imo - he is in there on merit but they don't seem to trust him or understand his game.

Yeah, I was really frustrated they didn't bring Briggs back the other day. Yes he got smacked in his one over, but when it got down to a run a ball off the last 8-7 overs, it was a gamble they should have taken as Wright wasn't going to bowl an over that went for 3-4 runs with a wicket, something that was needed to change the game.

Yes Briggs out, Root In.

They;ve finally got the formation of the team right imo regardless of the my thoughts on the players playing.

Briggs rightly dropped imo also even though he has been harshly treated. With 3 of the top 5 being left handed and very good players of spin he was always likely to be in for a flogging.

Yea they've used him stupidly. They keep bringing him on against left hand batsmen. If there was one batsman who'd fancy his bowling more than anyone it would be Yuvraj.

I was thinking last night at the Cricket Club when we got our raffle tickets for the meat draw, that India would probably score that many if they batted first tomorrow. The numbers were 211 to 220. 218 won us second prize which was a big bit of pork (second prize is usually what first prize didn't pick and they're both pretty substantial).

Wonder if Root will open the bowling, does for Yorkshire sometimes, can't go for more than Dirtbag.

Oh, on his run-rate prediction, I'm going for 10 on the dot.

I reckon Briggs is actually England's best available T20 bowler tbh; a shame that he misses out.
And I reckon that they only dropped him instead of Tredwell because Samit will be the second spinner and they don't want two left armers, especially with India's left handers in their middle order, where ironically a left hander has been dropped.
