Good game for Andrew thus far. Getting declared on not far shy of a double-ton must be a little bit galling though.
phlegm to die of shockNorthern with an absurdly strong batting lineup.
It'll be both I think. Pretty hard to get caught behind by an offspinner when you're not cutting.Jeets
Wouldn't be surprised if both Williamson and Flynn tried to cut one that was too close
I've seen the "your turn..now yours" NZ 'keeping situation as a simple game of musical chairs to pass the time whilst awaiting Ronchi's availability. The first five all caught by Ronchi. Meanwhile, Auckland are crumbling. de Grandhomme a bit disapointing this season so far.
I doubt it - this is par for the course with NZ cricket (as has frequently been reflected in the national side). Top 5 are just there to take the shine off the ball before the engine room 6-9 come in to score the runs .Is this the best ever season for lower order batsmen? They've had more 100's than top 4 batsmen!
Ergkh, or it's just a simple game of musical chairs that will stop....... when there are no more untried options left in the country. So probably 3 years from now and the last man standing will be.... Michael Bracewell.I've seen the "your turn..now yours" NZ 'keeping situation as a simple game of musical chairs to pass the time whilst awaiting Ronchi's availability.
Kuggeleijn 142* vs CDIs this the best ever season for lower order batsmen? They've had more 100's than top 4 batsmen! If Andrew can come that close to getting a double-ton, you've got to ask serious questions. Looks like the adrenalin of the knock has overcome any weary limbs he had, as he's opened up with his best bowling spell of the season to follow it up.
Really? From what I saw of it, I was never terribly impressed with Young's keeping. Looked pretty average against the spinners and even dropped the odd catch off the seamers. Having said that, I only saw him keep in maybe 3 matches, so I probably don't have enough evidence to form a fair judgement of him. From the limited amount that I've seen, Reece Young is the best keeper in the country.
I would actually prefer he was picked ahead of Watling.
Depends on the situation IMO. Mind you, Bracewell hasn't shown the best judgement of the situation at times. I'd be inclined to bat Jeetan Patel ahead of both in certain situations (i.e. where you need the tail end charlie to hold up an end to support a set batsman at the other).Southee WAG.
This knock got me thinking though, should Southee move up ahead of Bracewell in the test team? I'd say his record looks a lot better than Bracewell's since he came into the team.
Certainly a good follow up to Gareth Andrew's 126 on day one yesterday.lol, 152 now. Anyone have any idea what the higest score a number eight has scored on the first day of a four day game before? Must be getting close.
