This just makes up for the times Cook was out in the first and second test when he was not given, right? Right?

You have to ask what an umpire of Dharmasena's standard is doing officiating such a big game. Useless umpire, useless decision.

Clearly the batting order can be tweaked. You can make a case for KP dropping to 5 (he'll do as he's told now), Morgan or Bairstow at 6; but a top 4 of Cook, Compton, Trott and Root has, shall we say, an attritional look to it.

Yep, Dharmasena did Cook all ends up for the second time in the game.

Cook now joins Paul Collingwood at equal top of the list of Dharmasena's bunnies in Tests against England...

Was a hard decision for Dharmasena to make tbf. From his angle all he saw was the ball spinning past the bat, heard a sound at the moment it went by, saw the bat wobble slightly, and then the appeal. I think most umpires would have given that.

Root plays more shots usually, just adapted to the pitch very well I think. Some people will get a pleasant surprise I think once he is a settled member of the side.
