It's not the optimum action for getting swing though. He's far too front-on to get it hooping regularly - which is why he's very much 'straight up and down'.
Dale "Best outswing bowler in the world" Steyn disagrees. The whole front-on-for-inswing-side-on-for-out-swing thing is an old dying tradition, it's all about wrist and seam release now.

When's someone going to front CA about these fast bowling injuries. It's a side strain a thon.

You're doing it wrong ffs.

Really good drift here for Lyon. Need a fielder under the bat at both ends I reckon, the odd one bouncing variably.

Lyon gonna get a c&b here. Commentators still not picked up that Starc is getting reverse.

Has a batsman ever thrown anything at the ball as hard outside off as Til Dil does? The minute he sees it he tries to hit the cover off it

I don't recall a bigger change between Tests to a bowlers style.

Lyon has never been a drifter. The one aspect that Hauritz had him covered.

Our bowling was terrible in the first session, but it's been a lot better since lunch. Really felt like smacking our quicks over the head for bowling short. Every single ball that landed around half way ended up crossing the rope. Pitch it up FFS. Starc and Lyon have been bowling very well since lunch though.

Thought Siddle & Watto bowled quite well in the 2nd part of the session. Starc on the otherhand bowled absolute tripe, much improved after lunch though thankfully, and it's no co-incidence imo that he was bowling mostly over instead of around the wicket.

(n) Dave, Ricky would've hit that.

Come back Punter :(

EDIT: Should harden up 'n lose the jumper

Geez these two are trying seriously hard to get themselves out, aren't they?

Mathews has batted so weirdly since lunch.

Makes for good/amusing watching though. It's so pre-meditated at times (eg. gets beaten/almost run-out, must smash the next ball!)
