if hilf is ruled out of the next two matches or something at least we won't get siddle/hilf/johnson

I swear to god if they replace Hilf with Johnson next test match and we end up with Siddle, Starc, Johnson I might just kill myself.

yeah but the thing is, Mark Nicholas, Starc isn't bowling quick because he has no confidence in his accuracy. He is bowler slower to gain more control, and if he has to do that in test cricket he simply shouldn't be in the team. That's exactly the kind of thing he needs to be honing in shield cricket.

From watching Starc recently I think his action is a bit 'mixed' - neither fully front-on or horizontal to the crease. Swing is his major weapon imo so McDermott could just look at getting him in a sideways position at delivery.

Would be quite a feat of acrobatics to achieve that. Should send him to live with shaolin monks imo.

but seriously you're talking out of your arse. His action is very well aligned.

It's not the optimum action for getting swing though. He's far too front-on to get it hooping regularly - which is why he's very much 'straight up and down'.
