I thought CD were in with a real chance, but Papps is still there and nightwatchman Kuggeleijn has cruised to 69. Quite a useful allrounder.

Gees, it is not happening for Murdoch, is it? There are some serious troughs going on this season, but his has got to be the worst of the lot. Career average has dipped below 40; he's got 134 runs from 8 innings at 16.75 this season. The responsibility of captaincy must be an issue with a form drop like that.

Seems to be getting caught at 2nd/3rd slip a lot from what I've seen. It looks like he's made quite a few changes to his setup from a couple of years ago; I'm wondering if that's having an impact.

When's Brad Wilson going to be dropped? 115 runs at an average of 14.38 in FC this season.

George Worker has had a shocker, 89 at 11.13.

Yeah, they were the other stinkers I was thinking of, but they had career averages of around 32 and 30 respectively before this season. Still I guess they can all take consolation from Redmond's better season after last time out, and Worker is young enough. Really disappointed that he hasn't kicked on, though.

Whereas it is proving a great year for lower-order batsmen: chance of a maiden ton here for Kuggeleijn! He was an all-rounder in Holland..but so is anybody any good.

He's underperformed massively so far in his first class career tbh, the guy can bat. He made ND age group teams as a top order batsmen up until he was about 17, and then he discovered he could bowl pretty ****ing quickly.

Still that is bloody hilarious, most random score I've seen in a long, long time. Piss poor CD attack though it has to be said.

Heard it was a great day for Northern Districts cricket today against our second string attack.

Speaking of which, ND could do with signing someone who can actually bat. They've missed a trick with Kugglejuggle.

I think Kyle Mills used to make the Auckland age group teams primarily as a batsman. Was good he got an opportunity up the order as nightwatchman in this game.

When Mills made his ODI debut he was averaging 40 with the bat in First Class cricket. This was at a time when First Class averages were low across the board due to the spicy domestic wickets, and he was batting 6 or 7 for Auckland at the time. I can't help but feel the push to make him a limited overs specialist bowler wasted his skills somewhat. He was the key figure in a Test win against England at home with the ball too.

That's what happens when half your players are imports from other provinces and countries.

In all seriousness, Wellington have always had a strong side on paper, but their homegrown players are mercurial tstl and they've had a fetish for playing random Australians over the last few years.

edit: and I think Boam should be in the side right now. Elliott is in awful form and Boam is a very well organised player.

Well it doesn't help that every half decent batsmen from ND makes the Blackcaps, we are quite alright on allrounders (o right Anderson got called up and Sohdi needs more net time), and its not as if we need more bowlers ( o right half of them are called up as well).

ND's main problem is that we train our players to well , half of them make the Blackcaps, leaving us with a very second-rate team for most of the season.

expand on this. I think he came in at 7 for ages which is an ok spot in an ODI - where did you want him to bat?
